Tanzania is synonymous with safari and wildlife - 16 national parks, including the world heritage site Serengeti National Park and Selous Game Reserve that collectively house about 20 percent of Africa's large mammal population. Safari is a way of life in Tanzania, whether it is on land or sea. The largest country in East Africa has superb big game as well as world-class reefs and stunning marine life. It is also home to the highest peak and three largest freshwater bodies on the African continent. Also, let's not forget the magical spice islands of Zanzibar just off the coast of Tanzania and the highlight of the Indian Ocean coastline. This is a land so vast and diverse that Chan Brothers Travel Private Tours offers tour packages, luxury or customised, to fit every need and budget.
The crown jewel of all national parks Spanning 1.5 hectares of savannah, the Serengeti National Park is the crown jewel among Tanzania's national parks and is also a world heritage site. Embark on a tour package to witness the greatest wildlife show on the earth, the famed Great Migration in the Serengeti. Every December, more than 1.5 million wildebeest trek across vast plains and crocodile-infested waters along with 200,000 zebra and 300,000 Thomson's gazelle in search of fresh grazing.
Hunt down Africa's Big Five while you enjoy the predator versus prey spectacle in the Serengeti ecosystem. And if size does not matter to you, this national park also boasts some 500 bird species, a full 100 varieties of the dung beetle, gaudy agama lizards and rock hyraxes among many other animal species.

Hidden gem off Tanzania’s coast It may sound aggressive but Mafia Island is anything but. A hidden gem off Tanzania's coast, Mafia Island is a sleepy and tropical island that is a haven for diving aficionados. Dive in Chole Bay, the most impressive part of the island's marine environment, or go on a whale shark watching customised tour off Kilindoni Harbour where you can swim with up to 24 whale sharks at any one time, each estimated to be 8 metres in length.
If you prefer to stay dry, go on a tour of Mafia's village communities steeped in the East African boat building tradition, or simply relax and enjoy the serene and idyllic stretches of beach on the island.

Maruhubi Palace
Many know Zanzibar for its famed beaches but few know of the history behind this island archipelago. Located 4 km north from Zanzibar Town, the Maruhubi Palace offers a (perfect picnic spot) and a peaceful escape from the hustle and bustle of Stone Town. Built by Sultan Barghash in 1882 for his harem of women, the palace was almost completely destroyed by fire in 1899. Go back in time to 19th century Zanzibar as you wander across the undulating lawns and the massive stone pillars and aqueducts of the palace that remain standing.
