Korea’s second city prides itself as the city of tomorrow with a certain sheer verve and a vigorous appreciation of all the good stuff in life. With rugged mountain ranges and city beaches crisscrossing its heart, Busan is blessed with natural beauty galore and the irresistible duo of sun and sea during the warmer months. Whether you are a seafood lover, a hot springs enthusiast, a history buff or a lover of all things luxe, Busan is ever ready for you to paint its town red, and more. Plan your Busan or Korea tour package with Chan Brothers Travel Private Tours and set foot into the future to this bustling seaside metropolis.

Pull up a stool at Busan’s “Let’s Eat” alley
For a taste of authentic Korean street food and the local experience, there’s no better place to hit than Changseongdong Meokja Golmok, otherwise known as the “Let’s Eat” alley. Eating here is as direct as its nickname – stroll along, see what you like, pull up a stool, point and order, start eating away and move on to the next stall, there’s no time to waste! Mostly operated by Korean ajummas ceaselessly prepping a copious variety of Korean dishes such as Korean rice cake, green onion cake, sweet potato noodles, and all selling at very local prices, you are bound to leave this place with a full stomach and an equally full wallet.

    The healing power of HurShimChung
Said to be Asia’s largest hot spring spa. HurShimChung is a behemoth with a galore of supersized alkali pools including the longevity bath, hinoki wood bath, cave bath and an open-air outdoor bath all housed in and around luxurious surroundings of glass-domed skylights and tasteful interiors. The alkali spring water source that feeds the spa has the highest concentration of magnesium in Korea and promises to make your skin feel buttery smooth, soothe your muscles and calm your nerves. There are even 40 different bath types available during different seasons such as cherry, pepper, champagne and oriental herbs. After you are done with soaking, dry down with an equally worthy finale at the cedar-scented saunas and ask yourself this question – can life get any better?

Step into another world at Beomeosa Temple

Entering the 1,300-year-old temple is like stepping into another world. The beauty of Busan’s most important temple is one that is sacred and peaceful, with monks going about their daily rituals without taking notice of the few visitors strolling around the premises. The grounds and surroundings of wisteria woods and rolling valleys emit such a serene and consecrated atmosphere that you almost feel like you have to wander timidly around so you don’t taint the silence. Take time and explore the beautiful architecture, religious murals, the three-story pagoda built in the ninth century and the various royal palace wings, gates and hermitages. Those who are curious to immerse deeper into what life at a Buddhist temple is all about can even opt for a temple stay for an awakening experience.
