Other attractions at the scenic area include a Republic of China Street, The Old Garrison Town, Wonglong Fort Folk Cultural Area, Tanghe Ancient Castle Area and local dining with Bed & Breakfast establishments which are typical of popular water town travel destinations in the north. As it still retains its original Ming period refortification, UNESCO has affirmed that the Simatai section of the Great Wall is a unique representative section of the Ming period.
