Hike to Bhutan's Most Iconic Landmark, Tiger Nesk Monestry

Assemble at Singapore Changi Airport for your flight to Paro. Upon arrival, proceed to Thimphu, the capital of Bhutan to ennjoy your first-ever authentic Bhutanese cuisine. Next, visit Tashichho Dzong, which houses the throne of the King of Bhutan. Thereafter, head to Kuenselphodrang Nature Park, where you can catch a panoramic view of Thimphu Valley and admire the 169-feet bronze Buddha Dordenma Statue, the largest statue in the country.

In the morning, head to the National Institute for Zorig Chusum, where you can catch a glimpse of apprentices honing their skills and knowledge in 13 traditional arts and crafts of Bhutan. Next, visit the Folk Heritage Museum to discover the traditional cultures of Bhutan. Then, make a stop at the local post office where you can get your personalised stamps at your own expense. Continue on to the Royal Textile Academy to witness the traditional art of weaving. Then, proceed to visit National Memorial Chorten, a stupa built to honour the late 3rd King, His Majesty Jigme Dorji Wangchuck. Thereafter, visit Changangkha Lhakhang, the oldest temple in Thimphu from the 12th century. Proceed to the authentic Bhutanese crafts bazaar and Norzin Lam where you can purchase handicrafts, garments and accessories at your own expense.

Depart Thimphu and continue to Punakha. Cross Dochula Pass and visit the Druk Wangyal Chortens, which the construction of 108 chortens was commissioned by the eldest Queen Mother, Her Majesty Ashi Dorji Wangmo Wangchuk. Enjoy spectacular view of The Himalayas if the weather is clear. Along the way, stop at Sopsokha village and take a stroll through the rice fields to Chimi Lhakhang, a pilgrimage site for childless couples. Thereafter, visit Punakha Dzong, situated at the confluence of the Mo Chhu and Pho Chhu rivers before heading to Wangdue Phodrang, the last town before central Bhutan for your overnight stay.

Set off early for a scenic drive across Pelela Pass to explore the heart of Bhutan. Make a stop at Chendebji Chorten, built in the early 18th century to suppress an evil spirit that had been terrorising the inhabitants of the valley. Proceed to Trongsa, where the ancestral home of the Bhutan’s Royal Family, Trongsa Dzong is situated. Continue your journey to central Bhutan by travelling through Yotongla Pass to Bumthang. Visit Chhume Gewog, a village famous for its hand-woven woollen textiles made from the hair of Yak and fleece of sheep. Enjoy shopping at a Yathra textile shop for bags, jackets and fabrics of unique designs and attractive colours.

Begin your day by visiting Jakar Dzong, or “Fortress of the White Bird”, which is currently Bumthang’s administrative centre. Thereafter, visit Jambay Lhakhang, one of the 108 monasteries constructed by Tibetan King Songtsen Goenpo during the 8th century to subdue evil spirits in the Himalayan region. According to legend, all 108 temples were built miraculously in a single night. Next, visit Kurjey Lhakhang, one of the most sacred monasteries in Bhutan dedicated to Saint Guru Padmasambava who was said to have meditated there in the 8th century. Thereafter, head to Swiss farm, owned by a local Swiss-Bhutanese Fritz Maurer, who has lived in Bhutan for over thirty years. Visit the cheese factory and Red Panda beer brewery, where a variety of cheese and Bhutan’s only native draft beer are produced.

After breakfast, depart Bumthang and make your way to Gangtey Gonpa, the largest Nyingma monastery in Bhutan. Continue to Phobjikha Valley where you may be able to catch a glimpse of the endangered black-necked cranes which migrate from the Tibetan plateau in winter. Visit the black-necked crane information centre to learn more about the cranes. Thereafter, enjoy a picturesque ride to Wangdue Phodrang for your overnight stay.

After breakfast, make your way back to Paro, home to many old Bhutanese monasteries and temples. Visit the 7th century Kyichu Lhakhang, the oldest temple in Bhutan. Proceed to Drugyel Dzong, the fortress built in 1647 by Zhabdrung Ngawang Namgyal to commemorate his victory over the Tibetan invaders led by Mongolian warlord, Gushri Khan in 1644.

Embark on a scenic drive up to Chelela Pass, to catch a glimpse of Paro Valley on one side and Haa Valley on the other. Proceed to Ta Dzong, which houses a fascinating collection of costumes, art, religious paintings, relics, national stamps and handicrafts. Thereafter, visit Rinpung Dzong, which was built in 1645 to defend the valley against Tibetan invaders and had now been transformed to serve as an administration centre and school for monks and a venue of the annual spring festival.

After breakfast, embark on a hike to Bhutan’s most iconic landmark, Taktsang Lhakhang, which means Tiger’s Nest Monastery. Clinging precariously to a granite cliff 800 metres above the Paro Valley, legend has it the great Guru Rinpoche Padmasambhava flew to this spot on the back of a tigress. The monastery was first built in 1692 at a cave where the Guru meditated in the 7th century A.D. Thereafter, spend the rest of your day at leisure. You may wish to enjoy a relaxing Hot Stone Bath or head to the main street of Paro to pick up some souvenirs at your own expense.

Please wear comfortable walking shoes for your hike to Taktsang Lhakhang. The hike is not recommended for pregnant women and travellers with pre-existing health conditions.

上午,在国家绘画艺术学院看看学徒们怎样磨炼十三种传统艺术和手工知识与技能。接下来,前往民俗文化博物馆,了解不丹的日常生活方式和传统文化。在当地小作停留,可以在此自费制作个人化邮票。接着游览皇家纺织,见识一下传统的编织艺术,之后前往参观国家纪念塔,为了纪念已故的第三代不丹国王吉格梅•辛格•多吉•旺楚克而建。此后,参观廷布最古老的寺庙12世纪建的章岗拉康。最后,前往不丹工品集市诺真兰,可自费购买工艺品、服装及配饰。

离开廷布,前往不丹古都普那卡。跨过都楚拉隘,欣赏最年长的太后所委任修建的108 座佛塔,楚克旺耶。在晴朗的日子里,您甚至可能看到喜马拉雅山脉的壮丽景色。此后续往Sopsokha,在稻田间悠闲漫步至切米拉康佛寺,无子嗣的夫妇往往来此祈福。接下来前往坐落在母亲河和父亲河交界处的普那卡宗,参观完毕后前往到达不丹中部之前的最后一个城镇旺丹颇章

今早,驱车欣赏一路秀丽的风景,途经佩勒拉到探索不丹的中心。前往通萨,不丹皇室家族的祖居——通萨宗的所在。接下来参观建于18世纪初,为了压制住恐吓山民的邪恶精灵而建的辰德基佛塔。继续前往不丹中部的旅程,途径约通拉,到达布姆唐后,游览以手工编织的牦牛毛和羊毛纺织品而闻名的楚美村,在亚特拉纺织品店尽情购物,从箱包、外套到设计独特、色彩诱人的布料,应有尽有。

首先,前往参观贾卡宗,它的名称意为“白鸟城堡”,是布姆唐目前的行政中心。此后,参观建于8世纪的江贝拉康,它是吐蕃王松赞干布在喜马拉雅地区为了制服邪灵而兴建的108座寺院之一。据说这108座寺庙奇迹般地在同一个晚上建成。接着,参观不丹最神圣的寺院之一的古杰拉康,它供奉的是莲花生大师,传说8世纪时大师曾在此打坐修炼。之后前往瑞士农场,它的主人弗里茨·毛雷尔虽是瑞士人,但已经在不丹居住了三十多年。参观瑞士奶酪厂小熊猫啤酒厂,各种奶酪和不丹唯一的本地啤酒都在此生产。傍晚,您可自行探索美丽的贾卡镇。

今早,驱车欣赏一路秀丽的风景直至不丹最大的宁玛派寺院法王贡巴寺游览。之后,续往富毕卡山谷,在那里您也许能瞥见通常在冬季迁徙至西藏高原而且是濒临绝种的黑颈鹤。参观黑颈鹤资讯中心,以提高您对鹤的了解。此后,返回酒店休息。

今早,前往美丽而且古老寺庙成群的帕罗河谷。参观不丹最古老的寺庙—7世纪落成的凯奇拉康。此后,前往胜利之堡杜克耶宗,城堡于1647年由阿旺晋美朗杰始建成,以纪念1644年战胜由蒙古军阀固始汗带领的西藏侵略者。

今早,驱车前往不丹最美风景之一的切莱拉隘口,俯瞰一侧是帕罗河谷,另一侧是哈阿河谷的壮丽景色。接着,参观塔宗,一座在帕罗的国家博物馆,欣赏令人着迷的服装、艺术、宗教画、文物、国家邮票和工艺品收藏。接着,参观为了防御西藏侵略者入侵河谷而于1645年修建的日蓬堡,现在已作为行政中心和僧侣学校以及每年庆祝春节的一个场地。

早餐后,开始徒步前往不丹最具代表性的地标——塔桑,译称为“虎穴寺”。寺院位于帕罗山谷海拔800米处,修在花岗岩悬崖上,险峻不已。相传莲花生大师骑在一只母老虎的背上飞到这个地方,而寺院最初是于1692年在大师在7世纪打坐的山洞里建成。之后的时间可自由活动,自费享受舒适的热石浴,或前往帕罗的主要街道购买纪念品。


要登山上塔桑寺的游客请穿舒适的步鞋。不建议孕妇和有健康状况的游客登山。
