Meals on Board
Troop down to Singapore Changi Airport for your flight to Madrid, Spain.
Note
You
will assemble at the airport on the night of Day 1. However, the flight only
departs after midnight.
Meals on Board/Dinner
Situated at 2,000 feet
above sea level, Madrid is Europe’s highest capital city. Upon
arrival, spend the day at leisure. You may explore the old and new sections
of Madrid such as Plaza Mayor and Cibeles Fountain.
Breakfast/Dinner
This morning, continue
to Granada, the capital of Spain’s
last Moorish kingdom. The city lies at the foot of the Sierra Nevada mountain range
in the autonomous region of Andalusia and
served as the Moorish capital of Spain until liberation in 1492. This
afternoon, enjoy a lovely walking tour to the viewpoint of San Nicolas
facing the Alhambra Palace. Located in the heart of the Albaicin, next to what
was one of the old mosques of the Muslim city, it is the most emblematic viewpoint of Granada. From here, you
can see a complete panoramic view of the Alhambra, Sierra Nevada and the city. Then,
followed by a visit to the Temple of Flamenco, where you will try your hand (and feet) at this traditional, soulful art
with a private Flamingo dance class. And because this is Spain,
you may choose to end the night with a fascinating flamenco performance at your
own expense.
Breakfast/Spanish Tapas Lunch/Dinner
This
morning, tour the crown jewel of Granada known as the resplendent Alhambra, a UNESCO WORLD Heritage Site,
and the adjoining Generalife Gardens,
one of the oldest surviving Moorish Gardens. The palace, an Arabian fantasy of
brilliant mosaics and tiles, is one of the greatest accomplishments of Islamic
art and architecture. This afternoon, indulge in a delectable and moreish
spread of a traditional Spanish tapas lunch. Next, continue your
journey to Malaga, a city with 2800 years of history and famed for being
the birthplace of Picasso. Enjoy a walking tour to view the most emblematic
monuments and streets in Malaga’s city center, and learn the history, tales and
legends about this unique city. Thereafter, travel to Costa Del Sol, which
name means the Coast of the Sun.
Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner
After breakfast, travel
to Marbella, also known as the “Monaco” of Costa del Sol.
Explore the
most fascinating parts of the city of Marbella, see a variety of sights from
natural to architectural as you learn the stories, legends, and important facts
about the town. Discover the first green spot in the city, Almeda Park, the permanent exhibition of the bronze
statues of Dali, the Seaport, and the Marina promenade. Then, head to the old city to see its main civil buildings. These include the Town Hall and Mayor’s House, both of which were built in the 16th
century. See military structures, including the remains of the Arab walls that once protected the city.
Then, continue to Rhonda, one of the oldest cities in Spain. Visit the Royal Bullring
or the Real Maestranza de Cabelleria de Ronda. It was here that the corrida, or
bullfight, moved from horseback to foot, and many of the cherished theatrical
traditions of the matador evolved. Afterwards, continue to discover Setenil
de las Bodegas, a small ancient and picturesque white village with
unusual architecture. The houses, some below rocks and others on top of
or even inside of the rocks, create different street levels and forming
charming corners.
Breakfast/Dinner
Today, explore Gibraltar,
the United Kingdom's outpost on the Iberian Peninsula for more than 200 years.
First, ride to the southernmost point in Gibraltar, Europa Point. Visit
the Trinity House lighthouse with impressive views across the Straits of
Gibraltar to the Northern coast of Africa, which is visible on a clear day. The
next stop is spectacular St. Michael’s Cave, which during World War II
the cave was converted into a military hospital. It has a wealth of history
dating back thousands of years. Today it is used as a concert hall, making it
one of the best natural auditoriums, with great acoustics and a seating
capacity for 400 people. Then travel to the Apes' Den, where the famous
Barbary Apes may be observed in their natural habitat, the only apes roaming
wild in Europe. then head to Jerez and stop by a local vineyard for a wine-tasting session to sample some of
the exquisite wines produced in this region. Thereafter, travel to Seville, the 4th-largest city in Spain.
Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner
This morning,
visit the towering Seville Cathedral, the largest Gothic
cathedral and the third largest church in the world. Next, visit Giralda Tower, the most emblematic monument in Seville. This afternoon,
head to Cordoba. Upon
arrival in Cordoba, visit the magnificent Mezquita, a
UNESCO WORLD Heritage Site and a marvelous mosque which was later converted
into a cathedral after Cordoba was recaptured from the Muslim army by King
Ferdinand III of Castile. Patio de los Naranjos, a courtyard with lovely
gardens and orange trees, forms part of this grand Islamic monument. Another
must-see attraction in Cordoba is Calleja de las Flores
or Alley of Flowers, located in the heart of the Jewish quarter.
(Breakfast)
After breakfast, continue our journey to Consuegra which is famous for its windmills. You can enjoy
the fantastic views of the 12 windmills and a huge castle on the top of a hill crowning the plain. Each windmill has a name, to differentiate one from another. Afterwards, proceed to Madrid, the capital of Spain. On the way, visit Las Rozas Village Chic Outlet Shopping where previous seasons’ collection from the world’s leading Spanish and international
luxury fashion and lifestyle brands are reduced by up to 60 percent all year
round.
Breakfast
Today, visit Royal Palace, where plush decorations,
furnishings and frescoes will fascinate you. Later, stroll along the shopping
district of Puerto del Sol to
