TERMS & CONDITIONS (For Air Ticket Purchase / GV2 Packages)


The special instructions of your travel bookings are set out in the Passenger Statement and in these terms and conditions. They should be read together. You are deemed to have read, understood and accepted the following policies (collectively called “the Terms and Conditions”). For purpose of clarity, Chan Brothers Travel Pte Ltd shall be referred to as “the Company” hereinafter. Please check addenda to the Terms and Conditions, if any, upon booking.

1. Reservation, Deposit and Full Payment

Reservation can be made with the Company anytime during business opening hours. To confirm the reservation, please visit our office during business opening hours with a deposit amount that forms part of the final payment.

 

Deposit amount equivalent to airfare (including taxes and administrative charges) and first night’s accommodation is required upon reservation. Customers may opt to make full payment to enjoy the convenience of our electronic travel service (eService).

 

Payment of deposit of full payment does not constitute confirmation of the travel package. For eService customers, in the event that further payment is required due to changes in package details, customers may choose to visit our office or make online payment.

 

Upon confirmation of travel arrangement, travel documents (airline tickets, vouchers) will be issued and full payment is required immediately. If full payment is not made within 10 days of departure, the Company reserves the right to cancel the reservation and forfeit the deposit.

 

2. Service Fee

Quoted prices are subject to 2% service fee, payable by the Customer. For payment by cash or cheque, service fee is waived.

3. Amendments and Cancellations

No amendment of name or date of departure is allowed.

 

On receipt of cancellation notice in writing or prescribed cancellation form,   full deposit will be forfeited.

4. “GV02” Airfare Conditions

All bookings are subject to a minimum of two passengers travelling together at all times. Strictly no change of name or replacement of passengers will be allowed. In the event that number of travellers falls below the minimum number, due to passengers cancelling, flight booking will be cancelled by airline and all cancellation charges will be borne by passengers.

5. Service Charge (Airline Tickets booked without land content)

A service charge is imposed per ticket booked without land content. This service charge is waived when ticket is purchased together with land content. However, in the event that land content is not confirmed, tickets may still be purchased and service charge will be imposed.

6. Air Ticket Conditions – Legacy Airlines

Air tickets issued are restricted to specified airline only and not negotiable,  endorsable, reissuable, refundable or re-routable. Any alteration of the  routing or the date by the Customer is solely at the Customer’s own risk. The Company and its associated agents shall not be held responsible for any inconvenience caused and extra expenses incurred. No refund will be made for any unused air ticket, accommodation, meals or sightseeing, in part or in full.

 

If the Customer does not utilize the first sector of the ticket purchased, a no- show fee will be charged by the airline (and payable by the Customer) and subsequent flight sectors will be void. There will be no refund value on the ticket purchased.

 

7. Air Ticket Conditions – Low Cost Carrier

 

7.1 Additional Charges

In additional to the published web-fare, additional charge (service fees, documentation fees, seat selection charges, baggage charges) imposed by the respective budget carriers, is to be borne by passengers. Charges will be made known to customers at time of booking.

 

7.2 No Refund Value for Tickets Purchased

In the event of cancellation, there will be no refund value for airfare (including taxes and service fees) purchased, as per terms ad conditions published on the respective airline’s websites. Any amendment of flight details, including change of date, is considered a cancellation and new tickets at prevailing airfare and taxes must be purchased. For budget airfare booked with land content, in the event that land content is not confirmed, budget airfare cannot be refunded, and service charge will be imposed on the airfare.

8. Land Segment Conditions

Sequence of itinerary (where applicable) is subject to change without notice. Accommodation and all land segments are strictly on request and subject to confirmation. In the event that requests are not confirmed, the Company may recommend alternatives if available. Please note that price differences and surcharges may apply on a case-by-case basis and Customer will be advised accordingly. Should the Customer decide not to accept the alternatives, all refunds will be made accordingly by the Company and without further obligations. The Company shall also not be held liable for any contingent costs incurred by the Customer arising from the cancellation.

9. Amendments

Amendment refers to any change to the original reservation such as change of name, flight itinerary and/or change of accommodation.

 

9.1 Amendment by the Customer

Upon booking, passengers are deemed to have checked all names provided are as per passports.


Please fax or email the photo page (or any other page showing expiry date) of your passports to us within three (3) days of booking. Contact details overleaf. Passengers are required to check validity of passport before sending.

Subsequent changes to tickets issued made will incur amendment charges. For any promotional airfares or budget carriers, strictly no amendments or refunds are allowed.

 

9.2 Amendment Charges

For any change made by the Customer to the existing booking, amendment charges will apply. Charges vary according to whether travel arrangements have already been made and confirmed (e.g. hotels confirmed, airline tickets issued).

 

9.3 Amendment of Name (before tickets are issued)

For any change made by the Customer to the existing booking, an amendment fee of S$50 per person will apply per change. Please note that decision to allow name change is at the discretion of the airline. For special airfare promotions and low cost carriers, strictly no change of name is allowed.

 

9.4 Amendment of Name (after tickets issued)

Any re-issuance of air ticket, minimum administrative fee of S$50 per air ticket on top of any airline charges will apply. Any change to name of the Customer will be treated as cancellation of tour for that passenger.

 

9.5 Amendment Made to Tour Date or Tour Type

Any change made to the departure date or the tour type is considered a cancellation from the original tour and cancellation fee as stated under clause 9.2 will apply. The Company will revert to the Customer within 14 working days upon receiving written notice of the request for amendment.

 

9.6 Amendment to Tour Itinerary/Accommodation by the Company

The Company makes reasonable effort to avoid changes in the itinerary. However, the Company reserves the right to make minor changes at any time due to unforeseen circumstances, especially during peak periods or in the event of a force majeure.

10. Cancellation by the Customer

The Customer is allowed to cancel the reservation by completing the prescribed cancellation form, at any time prior to the departure date. However, cancellation fee will apply and it is computed based on charges imposed by the airline, hotel(s) and land operator, in addition to an administrative fee charged by the Company. Change of departure date, change of passenger’s name or change of tour is considered a cancellation from the original booking and cancellation charges will apply. Once hotel has been confirmed, any change of date or change of hotel, minimum of first night room charge will be levied. Once flight has been confirmed, all issued tickets will have no refund value.

 

11. Cancellation by the Company

Please note that the Company is acting as an agent for services rendered. Even after deposit of full payment has been made, all arrangements are still subject to final confirmation. If for some unforeseen circumstances the arrangement cannot be finalized and the reservation has to be cancelled, the Company will endeavour to notify the Customer at least one week before departure. The Company may, if it chooses, recommend alternative tours either to the same destination or other tours based on current tour fare. Please note that surcharges may apply on a case to case basis and the Customer will be advised accordingly. Should the Customer decide not to accept the alternatives, all refunds will be made accordingly by the Company and without further obligations. The company shall also not be held liable for any contingent costs incurred by the Customer arising from the cancellation. The Customer shall receive the refund within 4 to 6 weeks upon the Company notifying the Customer of the tour cancellation.

12. Refund Policy

 

12.1 Payment Mode

For cheque, nets or cash payment, refund will be made in the form of a cheque and processed within 2 to 4 weeks. For credit card payment, refund will be made through the credit card company and processed within 2 to 4 weeks (excluding bank processing time). During peak periods, the refund process may be longer due to the increase in transactions.

 

12.1 Unused Portion of the Tour

No refund will be made with respect to accommodation, meals, sightseeing tours or any other services included in the tour fare but not utilized by the Customer, either in part or in full, or where the Customer amends, cancels or otherwise varies arrangements after commencement of the tour.

13. Travel Documents and Travel Insurance

13.1 Passport and Other Travel Documents

It is the Customer’s sole responsibility to ensure a valid passport with minimum six months validity from date of the last departure point, as well as the necessary visas, vaccinations, health certificates and all necessary travel documents as required by the various government authorities of the country/countries to be visited (e.g. exit permit, work permit).

 

13.2 Country Entry Visa

Different embassies/consulates require varying lengths of time to process visa applications. The Company renders assistance in visa application wherever possible but cannot, however, guarantee the approval of such visa application. This service is subject to auxiliary charges which will be advised by the Company. If, for any reason, application for visa or exit permit is rejected, and this is made known to the Company at least 35 days prior to departure, an administrative charge of $100 per person will be levied and the balance of deposit paid (excluding visa application fees paid to the respective embassies) will be refunded to the customer. If less than 35 days notice is given, the relevant cancellation fee as stated under clause 2 will apply.

 

The Company will not be responsible for any expense, reimbursement or refund of tour fare if the Customer is deported or refused entry by immigration authorities on the tour for whatever reasons, including improper travel documents, quarantine, custom regulations and possession of unlawful items or irregularities that may cause harm/damage to person or property.

 

13.3 Travel Insurance

Purchase of travel insurance is strongly recommended with respect to unforeseen circumstances such as trip cancellation, personal baggage loss, personal accident, injury or illness. Under no circumstances shall the Company be construed as a carrier under contract for safe carriage of the Customer or baggage/belongings. The Company will be pleased to assist in the enquiries of any travel insurance and related matters.

14.  Taxes and Surcharges

Airport taxes, airport security taxes, airline insurance surcharges, fuel taxes, service fees and surcharges are subject to change by the respective airlines without prior notice. Tax amount will be finalized at time of ticket issuance. Customers are required to pay the prevailing taxes/surcharges before departing on the tour.

15. Additional Notes

When booking adult triple-share room or child with bed, please note that the third bed may be a “roll-away” bed.

 

Child fares apply to persons between the ages of two years old and above to mot more than twelve years old.

A child who has attained twelve years of age is considered an adult and will pay adult fare. A child sharing the room with only one adult will pay child half twin fare.

 

For bookings on low cost carriers, passengers are responsible to reconfirm their flights with the respective airlines at least two days before departure.
