Upon arrival, take a leisurely drive to Lake Toya that is located in the scenic Shikotsu-Toya National Park, this photographic freshwater caldera lake is 10km in diameter and framed by a few active volcanic domes including the majestic Mount Showa.  Take a panoramic views of Lake Toya and its stunning surroundings at Silo Observatory. “Grin and bear it” literally at the Showa Sinzan Bear Ranch as the facility’s bevy of adorable bears wave and greet you upon arrival. Photograph and feed these furry animals at your own expense. After the cuteness overload, stock up on popular local skincare products made from horse oil at the souvenir shop. Tonight, take a dip in a relaxing hot spring bath at an onsen resort at Noboribetsu.

Your next stop will be the evocative Otaru Canal, where charming century-old stone warehouses line both sides of the lively canal. The genteel theme continues at Otaru Music Box Museum, where whimsical displays of beautifully-crafted music boxes – each bearing lovely tinkling tunes – will delight even the grumpiest of cynics

After breakfast, take a leisurely drive to the charming Otaru Canal which is lined with century-old stone warehouses on both sides. Make a stop at Kitaichi Glass Factory to witness skilled artisans perfect their craft. After lunch, proceed to observing the manufacturing process of cheese at a Cheese Factory. You may wish to purchase some local cheese and milk at your own expense. This evening, take a breezy stroll through the zigzag line of wooden cabin shops nestled in the green forest of Furano at Ningle Terrace. Here, you can pick up some exquisite handmade souvenirs. Thereafter, indulge in a hot spring bath at an onsen resort in Furano. With its natural geothermal properties, the hot spring water will leave your skin feeling silky smooth for a good night’s rest.

After breakfast, head to Sapporo. Make a stop at the Furano Winery on the way and get to taste limited edition wines cultivated from the unique Furano climate. Next, head to Mitsui Outlet Sapporo Kitahiroshima for some retail therapy and take your pick from the wide range of domestic and imported brand items available. Round off the day with a stroll along Hokkaido’s longest shopping street, Tanukikoji Shopping Arcade

Today, explore Sapporo at your own pace. You could drop by the Sapporo Beer Museum to learn all about Japan’s oldest and one of the most popular beers, and of course, sample the various beers available. If you prefer to escape the hustle and bustle of the city, Maruyama Park may be an ideal destination. Surrounded by forested hills, the park hosts various family-friendly playgrounds, open fields as well as the Maruyama Zoo, one of the most nature-oriented zoos in Japan.
