Meals on Board
Arriving at Changi Airport for your flight to Frankfurt, excitement will be mounting for your long awaited holiday in Germany. Flight details: SQ 26 | Departing: 2355 hours
Welcome Reception
Welcome to Frankfurt! You’ll be met at the airport by your Travel Director and Driver team who’ll take you directly to your hotel. This afternoon, start your holiday with an orientation tour of Frankfurt’s medieval Römerplatz and dynamic financial district. This evening, gather for a Welcome Reception and get to know the group over a drink and light meal before our discovery of best of Germany really kicks off tomorrow.
Breakfast and Be My Guest lunch
Resist the alluring calls of Lorelei and board your leisurely cruise along the Rhine River. Glide past vineyard-clad hills, before being welcomed by a local family for an exclusive Be My Guest experience in a 13thcentury medieval castle perched high above the river. Hear stories of knights and feuding lords and ladies over a traditional lunch before continuing to Cologne, where we'll view the Gothic spires of its magnificent cathedral during our orientation of the city before arriving in Düsseldorf.
This morning, board a high-speed train to historic Berlin, whose once-turbulent history has shaped its rebirth as the charismatic capital. On arrival, join a Local Specialist Guide who’ll share their knowledge and passion for city’s history on a walking tour past the Brandenburg Gate, the Tiergarten, Unter den Linden and the Reichstag, with its famous glass dome. Enjoy the rest of the day exploring Berlin however you like.
Ascend the Berlin TV Tower for spectacular 360° views of the city before the rest of the day is yours to explore. You could see the remnants of the Berlin Wall, visit the infamous Checkpoint Charlie, find a spot for some delicious German beer and food or enjoy an Optional Experience to the District of Potsdam, the former Prussian royal seat.
Breakfast and Dinner
Celebrate beauty through art and architecture in beautiful Würzburg, where you will see the PrinceBishops' residence and Marienberg Fortress, on the banks of the Main River before our next destination, quaint and colourful Rothenburg. Enjoy a lovely dinner at the hotel.
This morning, embark on an orientation walk through the medieval centre of Rothenburg, seemingly frozen in time and surrounded by a fortified town wall that remains intact after centuries. Travelling south through picture-perfect landscapes of Bavaria, we arrive in Munich.
Stroll through the heart of Munich this morning, visiting Marienplatz with both its new and old City Halls and see the magical Glockenspiel that delights visitors with its re-enactment of 16th-century tales. Spend the rest of the day on your own. You could explore the city's Baroque palaces and vibrant markets, or the country’s rich beer brewing heritage at one of Munich's many beer halls. Prost!
Breakfast, Dinner
You’ll love being transported to a land of fables and folklore today. First up, we tread in the footsteps of King Ludwig II visiting his iconic Neuschwanstein Castle, built as a retreat for him to withdraw from public life. We continue through the magical countryside to the Black Forest, before reaching our special Stays with Stories accommodation, Hofgut Sternen, ahistoric Black Forest style inn at the foot of the romantic Ravennaschlucht (Ravenna Gorge). You’ll be delight at hearing stories of Marie Antoinette's stay here as she travelled to Paris in 1770 to marry the French King Louis XVI.
Breakfast, Farewell Dinner
Witness a Black Forest treasure as you learn about the centuries-old craft of cuckoo clock making this morning. Later, travel into the Rhineland to view the ruins of Heidelberg Castle, one of the most important Renaissance structures north of the Alps, as well as the Baroque-style Old Town with its bustling market squares and colourful façades. Spend the rest of the afternoon finishing up some last-minute shopping before continuing on to Frankfurt. Tonight, celebrate your time in Germany with a Farewell Dinner and drinks with the group.
After breakfast, you are free to explore the city or some last-minute shopping before transfer to Frankfurt Airport for your return flight to Singapore. Flight details: SQ 325 | Departing: 2155 hours
